Adding a new pet to the family is always exciting, isn’t it? Especially watching them explore new things.
Pax joined my family in May. I’m still getting to know him. So when BoxCat offered to send me one of their cat subscription boxes to try, I decided Pax was going to help me review the box.
BoxCat is a monthly subscription box made just for cats. We got to try their BoxDog subscription box for dogs so we were looking forward to seeing what BoxCat had to offer.
The pet subscription box was packed with a lot of fun stuff and Pax was right there as I started unpacking it, ready to jump into the review.
And jump in he did when I unwrapped the first item, a nylon tunnel that he wasted no time in crawling through.
Along with the tunnel the cat box contained:
- 2 cat teaser toys,
- 1 with a feathery boa to chase and
- 1 that was a cool little fishing pole that had a little stuffed toy fish on the line,
- 2 packages of treats
- BoxCat freeze-dried chicken
- BoxCat Surf & Turf hard treats
- 2 stuffed cat toys
- a stuffed paw print
- a stuffed mouse
- a sisal cat scratcher
- a ball chase track toy
- a tube of cbd balm
That’s quite a box!
I got to work removing everything from plastic wrap then once I distracted Pax from checking out the plastic wrap(sorry bud, that’s not part of the fun), we got down to checking out the rest of the goodies.
Pax decided to curl up in the box and quickly grabbed the pawprint toy to flip around. He was having so much fun I couldn’t even interest him in playing with the stuffed mouse toy, so I pulled out the cat teaser toys.
Part of our nighttime ritual involves playing with a cat teaser toy so I couldn’t wait to add these to the fun. He loves the purple feathery one. Goes absolutely crazy. It’s become our new favorite when we play. I wasn’t sure about the fishing pole with the stuffed fish on the line. But he loves it! It takes a little bit for me to get coordinated using it., but I thought I did pretty good with it considering I’ve never been fishing.
He doesn’t seem to understand the ball track chase toy, no matter how much I showed him. My other cats LOVE their track toys so they will need to fill him in. I then showed him the Monster Sisal toy, but he only wanted to eat the garland material on it instead of scratching the sisal.
Then we tried out the last toy- the sisal ball. He didn’t think it was as fun as the other toys, but we set it aside to pull out during our play sessions.
Then I pulled out the treats BoxCat Surf and Turf Cat Treats and BoxCat Freeze Dried Chicken Bites. Both of them were winners.
