I learned about raw diets for dogs when I got on the Internet way back in the late 1990’s. At the time I starting collecting books on raw feeding, joining email lists and spent my time online surfing from raw feeding website to raw feeding website. And the result? I fed my dogs raw for a very short time. My current crew eats kibble. Not because I don’t feel raw is a good diet option, but because of a variety of reasons including lack of time to put together a proper diet for my 4 dogs.
But what if there was a proper diet that was easy to prepare and provided the nutrition your dog needed? Sojos Wild™ Dog Food makes feeding your dog a healthy diet as easy as it can get.
While I was hanging out on those email lists and reading those websites, Sojos was a name I heard often but I didn’t know much about the company. I was surprised to learn the company was started in 1985 in Michigan by 2 women who based their recipe on the dietary recommendations of Juliette de Bairacli Levy, an herbalist and early pioneer of holistic pet care. When the company was offered for sale, it was bought by Ward who was familiar with the food and had seen the results while a manager at a holistic veterinary clinic. Now the family owned company is based in Minnesota where they make the food and treats one batch at a time.
Sojos has several product lines of food and treats for dogs (and a recipe for cats) that include Sojos Original Dog Food Mix(the recipe that started the company in 1985), Sojos Complete Dog Food, and the newer Sojos Wild Dog Food. We received a bag of each recipe of the Sojos Wild™ to try. My dogs were a bit thrilled to give the food a try.

Preparing Sojos Wild™ was pretty simple. Just shake bag to distribute ingredients. Measure into bowl. Add water. Set back on counter so it can re-hydrate. Go read newspaper. Yell at cat to get off the counter. Go back to reading newspaper. Yell at other cat to get off the counter. Go back to reading newspaper. Yell at both cats to get off the counter. Give up on reading newspaper. Go put Sojos in dog bowls. Feed dogs. Finish reading newspaper with no interruptions.
Okay, you probably won’t have all those steps, especially if you don’t have cats. But if you do have cats know that the Sojos is like a cat magnet. Luckily there is a work around. Sojos recommends that you allow the Sojos Wild™ to rehydrate in the fridge overnight. This means not only don’t you have to wait for the food to be ready, but the Sojos is safe from hungry cats.
My dogs loved the Sojos Wild™ and gobbled down each recipe. Any attempt to get a photo of Mellie eating the food just resulted in a photo of a satisfied dog with an empty plate. At least Mellie enjoyed each attempt.
Easy prep is just one of the advantages of feeding the Sojos Wild™ dog food. The convenience makes it easy to feed when traveling or you have to leave your dog in the care of a pet sitter or boarding kennel. You won’t have to worry about someone preparing their food wrong.
If you’ve been thinking of switching to raw or been looking for a convenient healthy diet, try Sojos Wild™. It’s easy to prepare. It’s made with healthy ingredients. It’s developed by a company that has cared about what your dog eats since 1985.
Sojos Wild™ comes in 2 sizes 1 lb. and 4 lbs. One pound makes 5 pounds of rehydrated food. You can purchase Sojos Wild™ directly from Sojos or use their Store Locator to find a retailer near you or online.
