Forty-five years ago this year, my area was devasted when Hurricane Agnes dumped a huge amount of rain in the region causing the Susquehanna River to rise over its banks. I was too young to remember it especially being safely housed at my grandparents’ house a few miles from the flooding. We were in town for my other grandmother’s funeral so we didn’t have to deal with the aftermath. It’s something that greatly impacted my area.

But I’ve never had to go through what the people in Texas are going through. My heart goes out to them. It’s hard watching them dealing with it now and knowing what they will have to deal with in the future.
