2016 arrived with a bang. Literally. The neighbors went a little crazy with the fireworks. Luckily with the TV up loud and Havoc getting some Xanax we made it to 2016 with no stress.
With such a big start to the New Year came some big changes for the blog.
First the name. In case you didn’t notice Pet Product Review is now Pet Faves. I will still be doing some product reviews, but I decided the Pet Product Review name was too limiting. I wanted to do other type of posts like gift ideas, useful products, cool new products, fun Internet finds and more. After a lot of thinking and trying to find the right name(i.e. one that wasn’t taken already!) I came up with Pet Faves to represent sharing all my pet favorites.
Along with a new name came a new design. I still have tweaking and updating to do, but I’m happy with it! What do you think? Is there anything you would like to see added?
And no New Year would be complete without a resolution. My resolution for 2016 is too be more creative. I fell in love with needle felting a few years ago, but in all that time have only made a few items. I just never seemed to have enough time devote to it. Meanwhile I look at the beautiful finished pieces people in the needle felting Facebook groups I belong to make and wish I was as talented as they were. Here’s the thing though. I will never become that talented if I don’t actually DO any needle felting. So this year I am making time. To help keep me motivated and give me a goal to reach for I decided to do a pet related project(of course), one I named the 52 Cat Toys Project. Each week I will make one needle felted cat toy. At the end of the year I will have 52 cat toys(love easy math). While I know my cats would love to have them(especially Bitsa who tries to steal what I am working on), I thought maybe I could do some good with the toys. I thought maybe I could auction off the toys to raise money for one of my favorite cat groups. You can follow along at 52 Cat Toys on Instagram or Facebook to see my progress and help me come up with ideas for toys!
That is my 2016 so far. I’m can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings.
